Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam airport [SSR] of Mauritius is found in the district of Grand Port. Mauritius is divided into nine districts and Grand Port is found in the south of the island.

The brand new airport which covers a total surface area of 57 000 m2 will be able to handle 4 million passengers annually.

Recently completed projects include the creation of a Premium Class Lounge at arrivals; the addition and re-arrangement of Immigration facilities both at arrivals and departures; a plant for wastewater treatment with capacity to process four times more effluent; and a new road network and better parking facilities to ease incoming and outgoing traffic.

Recently, with Air Asia, many Mauritian people have had the opportunity to travel abroad and see new places and many tourists have visited our island thanks to the low cost fares.
